Sinner Considers Continuing Use of Protective Sleeve Despite Elbow Recovery

Cincinnati: Italy’s world number one Jannik Sinner has indicated that he might continue wearing a protective sleeve on his right elbow, a practice he adopted during his successful Wimbledon campaign to address an elbow issue, although the problem has now been resolved. Speaking at a news conference after a training session at the Cincinnati Open, the 23-year-old confirmed that his elbow is in good condition.

According to Ansa News Agency, Sinner mentioned that he first wore the sleeve during his Wimbledon matches and found it beneficial. He noted that the sleeve provides a slightly more stable feel and enhances the impact with the ball, which he appreciated during his games. Sinner expressed his liking for the sleeve and the pure striking sensation it offers, although he acknowledged that he would need to evaluate its performance in different weather conditions, particularly in heat and humidity.

As the defending champion in Cincinnati, Sinner is preparing to face Vit Kopriva or a qualifier in his opening match. He emphasized the importance of considering the sleeve’s utility under varying conditions but conveyed his overall satisfaction with the support it provides.
