Serial Abuse of Girls, Fake Gynecologist Arrested

Rome: A 71-year-old retired radiologist, who pretended to be a gynecologist, and another 42-year-old man, were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of gang rape of 135 girls and young women during bogus examinations which they also filmed since 2016. The pair allegedly committed abuse on girls who responded to ads, convinced that in exchange for payment they would be given the opportunity to act as actresses in promotional videos for a clinic. A clinic that did not exist, police said.

According to Ansa News Agency, the fraudulent scheme involved luring victims with the promise of acting roles in non-existent promotional videos. The victims, seeking opportunities in the entertainment industry, were subjected to abuse under the guise of medical examinations. The retired radiologist, exploiting his previous medical credentials, conducted the examinations while the 42-year-old accomplice assisted in the operation.

Authorities revealed that the examinations were meticulously filmed, adding another layer of exploitation. The investigation, which spanned several months, uncovered the extent of the abuse and the duo’s methodical approach to entrap victims. Law enforcement officials emphasized the importance of vigilance and warned against similar fraudulent schemes targeting vulnerable individuals.

The arrest of the two men was a result of a comprehensive police operation, which involved analyzing evidence collected from the suspects’ residences. The operation highlighted the need for increased awareness and preventive measures to protect potential victims in the future.
