Cardinal Electors Commence Conclave in the Sistine Chapel

Vatican City: The cardinal electors have begun entering the Sistine Chapel, marking the commencement of the conclave for the election of the 267th Pope. As the cardinals cross the threshold, they proceed to their designated stations, which are prepared with the necessary equipment for the voting process.

According to Ansa News Agency, the tables are adorned with red drapes and brown tablecloths, organized along the entire length of the Sistine Chapel in four slightly staggered rows-two on the right and two on the left. This meticulous arrangement sets the stage for the solemn proceedings.

The conclave process will culminate with the cardinal electors taking an oath, followed by the traditional declaration of ‘extra omnes,’ leading to the closing of the Sistine Chapel doors, signifying the seclusion necessary for the election of the new Pope.
