Florence: Centre-left Democratic Party (PD) leader Elly Schlein expressed gratitude to re-elected Tuscan governor Eugenio Giani for his recent victory over the centre-right. She emphasized that this win provided a sense of joy and hope for the centre-left alliance.

According to Ansa News Agency, Schlein addressed a press conference at the electoral committee for Giani’s governorship re-election run. She extended her gratitude to Giani and the entire progressive coalition for their efforts in achieving this outcome. Schlein remarked, “I want to thank Giani for this splendid victory, and thank the entire progressive coalition.”

Schlein highlighted the significance of the victory, stating that it brings joy and hope to the alliance. She also expressed appreciation for the Tuscans who chose to maintain a progressive government. Schlein noted, “We thank the Tuscans who wanted to continue along the path of a progressive government.”

The victory in Tuscany stands in contrast to recent losses in regional elections in Marche and Calabria. Schlein remarked on the resilience of the progressive coalition, asserting that those who doubted its viability have been proven wrong.
