Salvini Labels Illegal Migration as Europe’s Main Threat Over Russian Aggression
Paris: Illegal migration is the primary threat facing Europe rather than a potential Russian assault, claimed Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini. Speaking on Monday at the ‘Victory Festival’ in Mormant sur Vernisson, near Paris, Salvini emphasized the pressing concern of unauthorized migration. The event was organized by the Patriots for Europe group, which includes Salvini’s League party.
According to Ansa News Agency, Salvini declared, “Like yesterday, the League is with you today, the majority of Italians are with you: we must fight with all the weapons allowed by democracy to combat an EU dominated by bureaucrats and bankers.” He underscored that the threat does not emanate from Russia, dismissing the notion of Russian tanks as improbable, and instead pointed to the South and the issue of illegal migrants as the real danger.
Salvini also invoked the wisdom of Pope Leo’s words of peace, suggesting that such guidance should be heeded. He concluded his address by asserting that “we Patriots are on the right side of history,” signaling a call for action against what he perceives as the true threats to European stability.
