Sace Implements ‘Push Strategy’ in Tanzania to Bolster Italian Exports

Dar es Salaam: For the first time, Sace has implemented a ‘push strategy’ in Tanzania to aid Italian companies engaged in key sectors such as agribusiness, food and beverage, textiles, and distribution. This initiative aligns with the Mattei Plan for Africa.

According to Ansa News Agency, Sace has guaranteed a loan provided by the international bank Rabobank to the Metl Group, a prominent Tanzanian company. The Metl Group operates in several countries, producing agricultural, industrial, and consumer goods. The loan serves as a means to facilitate Italian exports.

The credit line guaranteed by Sace is designed to support the acquisition of Italian products and services, thereby fulfilling the dual objective of Sace’s ‘push strategy’: enhancing Italian exports while fostering the growth and development of target markets.

Metl is dedicated to creating ‘business matching’ opportunities with Italian companies in its sectors of interest, further reinforcing the connection between Italian industry and the Tanzan
ian market.

“We are proud to stand alongside Metl Group, supporting their growth objectives in Tanzania and strengthening business ties with the country, in line with the Mattei Plan,” stated Michal Ron, Chief International Business Officer of Sace. “The push strategy confirms Sace’s commitment to supporting Italian companies in their internationalisation journey, while strengthening relations between Italy and key international buyers.”

Mohammed Dewji, President of the Metl Group, expressed gratitude towards Sace and Rabobank for their support, emphasizing the positive and lasting impact this financial backing will have on the Metl Group and the Tanzanian economy.
