Rosary Prayers Held Nightly in St Peter’s Square for Pope Francis’ Health

Vatican City: Rosary prayers will be recited every evening in St Peter’s Square for Pope Francis, the Vatican announced on Monday. “Starting tonight, cardinals residing in Rome, with all collaborators of the Roman Curia and Diocese of Rome,” will gather at 9 pm to “recite the Holy Rosary for the Holy Father’s health,” stated the note released on Monday. The prayer session on Monday will be led by Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

According to Ansa News Agency, Vatican sources reported on Monday that the pope had woken up after a restful night and was continuing treatment at Rome’s Agostino Gemelli Hospital. They noted that “the mood is good” and he is “eating normally,” adding that the pontiff was “not in pain.” The sources elaborated that the “suffering” mentioned in a medical bulletin issued on Saturday evening was due to a prolonged respiratory crisis the pontiff experienced that day.

Pope Francis was admitted to the hospital on 14 February after experiencing breathing difficulties. He was initially treated for bronchitis before being diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs.
