Roma Keep Pace with Napoli, Juve End Winless Run
Rome: AS Roma beat Parma 2-1 at home on Wednesday to keep pace with Serie A leaders Napoli while Juventus defeated Udinese 3-1 in Turin to end an eight-match winless streak with caretaker coach Massimo Brambilla on the bench after they sacked Igor Tudor on Monday.
According to Ansa News Agency, Mario Hermoso and Artem Dovbyk were on target for Roma, who have accumulated 21 points from nine games, matching the tally of champions Napoli. Napoli had secured a 1-0 victory at Lecce on Tuesday.
Dusan Vlahovic, Federico Gatti, and Kenan Yildiz found the net for Juventus on Wednesday. The Turin giants, currently seventh with 15 points, are expected to appoint former Italy, Napoli, Inter, and Roma boss Luciano Spalletti as their permanent coach following Tudor’s departure.
Inter secured a commanding 3-0 victory over struggling Fiorentina at San Siro, propelling them to third place with 18 points. They are ahead of their city rivals AC Milan, who played to a 1-1 draw at Atalanta on Tuesday, based on goal difference.
