Caserta: The iconic Reggia di Caserta UNESCO world heritage former Bourbon palace north of Naples was forced to shut down after an electrical fault hit the town of Caserta Thursday. The 18th-century Reggia, a former showcase for the Naples monarchs and often referred to as Italy’s Versailles, is one of the top tourist attractions in southern Italy.

According to Ansa News Agency, the sudden electrical failure resulted in the closure of the historic site, disrupting plans for many visitors. The Reggia di Caserta, which has also served as the backdrop for several films, including Star Wars, attracts numerous tourists annually due to its historical significance and architectural grandeur.
