Red Heat Health Alert Issued in Florence

Florence: A code red heat health alert is in force in Florence on Monday and Tuesday and will probably be extended to Wednesday too, authorities in the Tuscan capital said. The mercury rose to 41.45 degrees in the cradle of the Renaissance on Sunday.

According to Ansa News Agency, other Italian cities including Rome, Milan, and Naples are also under a code red alert for the extreme heat. This means even young and healthy people are at risk during peak heat hours.
