Puglia’s Vision for Space Showcased at Expo 2025 Osaka

Osaka: A starry sky representing harmony between nature and fate is the idea that developed into the visual strategy promoted by the Puglia Region for Expo 2025 Osaka. The objective is to explore the concept of ‘Puglia gains Space’ which aims to bring fresh know-how and visions to the region in order for it to present itself as a new centre of research and innovation within the Blue Space Economy.

According to Ansa News Agency, Rocco De Franchi, who is in charge of institutional communication, explained that they have presented the Italy of innovation. He stated that Italy throws its heart over the fence and looks at the stars, effectively representing many companies from Puglia operating in the aerospace sector. This was considered a distant dream a few years ago but is now a solid reality.

The use of fresh constellations to form the word Puglia suggests a regional identity focused on the future, with strong roots in its history but with an eye on space and technology. The octagon represented in the constellation evokes the 13th-century Castel del Monte, one of Puglia’s most iconic sites. The structure acts as a bridge between Earth and Cosmos, symbolizing a connection between the material and spiritual worlds.

De Franchi further mentioned that the Pavilion of the United States is exclusively focused on aerospace and satellite themes. The Puglia Region has allowed the Italy Pavilion to respond promptly and effectively, showcasing a significant image of the future made possible by the activities of companies from Puglia. These efforts are supported by cohesion funds, European funds, and strategic investments that the Puglia Region has implemented over recent years.
