Prosecutors Investigate Explosion at Rome B&B
Rome: The State Attorney’s Office in Rome is conducting an investigation into the collapse of a bed and breakfast in the Monteverde district following an explosion on Sunday. The incident resulted in critical injuries to a 54-year-old Scottish tourist.
According to Ansa News Agency, investigators under the direction of prosecutor Giovanni Conzo have initiated a probe against unknown individuals for culpable injuries and culpable disaster. The Carabinieri police from the Trastevere Company have been questioning several witnesses, including the owner of the B and B, to determine the cause of the explosion.
The Scottish tourist, whose identity remains undisclosed, sustained burns covering 70% of his body. In the aftermath of the incident, anti-mafia writer Roberto Saviano clarified reports suggesting his presence in the building, assuring that he had vacated the premises a few days prior.
