Pope Leo XIV to Meet Pro-LGBT, Women Priest Advocacy Group at Vatican

Vatican city: Pope Leo XIV is set to meet with a Catholic association that advocates for greater LGBT rights, the ordination of women priests, and the marriage of priests, marking the first such encounter as part of the Jubilee Holy Year celebrations. This announcement was made by the Vatican on Thursday.

According to Ansa News Agency, representatives from the “We Are Church” group will participate in the Jubilee of the Synod teams in the Vatican at the end of October. This meeting is significant given the group’s differing views from the Holy See on various issues, including LGBT rights, the ordination of women, priestly marriage, and economic reforms.

The invitation to the Vatican was extended by Cardinal Mario Grech, Secretary General of the Synod, and the event is scheduled from October 24 to 26. During this period, participants will pass through the Holy Door and have an audience with Pope Leo XIV, as reported by the Vatican news portal.

The Vatican maintains its stance against the ordination of women and clerical marriage while allowing only chaste gays to participate in rites.
