Pope Francis Experiences Another Restful Night in Hospital, Reports Vatican

Rome: Pope Francis had another “restful night” in Rome’s Gemelli hospital, the Vatican Press Office reported on Tuesday. The pontiff woke up at approximately 8 a.m., indicating stable progress in his recovery.

According to Ansa News Agency, the Vatican announced on Monday that the Pope’s prognosis has ‘dissolved’, marking a significant improvement as he continues to battle bilateral pneumonia. This update follows a more than three-week period during which his prognosis was described as “guarded.”

Doctors have stated that the 88-year-old Argentine pontiff, who was admitted to Gemelli hospital on February 14, still requires ongoing hospital treatment. Due to the complexity of the Pope’s clinical condition and the severe infection present at the time of his admission, it remains necessary for him to continue receiving pharmacological treatment in the hospital for the foreseeable future.
