Pizzaballa Says Gaza Situation ‘Inhuman’
Jerusalem: The situation in Gaza where many face starvation amid an Israeli reprisal for the October 7, 2023, Hamas raids that has killed around 55,000 people, is “inhuman”, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa told Rainews24 Wednesday.
According to Ansa News Agency, in Gaza “the situation remains disastrous, dramatic and inhuman”, said the prelate. “The health system has completely collapsed, there is a lack of medicines, hygiene, water, food has been missing for months and the population is hungry”.
“I am astonished, I cannot understand the meaning of all this that goes beyond any comprehensible limit,” Pizzaballa expressed.
This war “is being paid for by the last, the poor, the women, the children who – let’s not forget – are not only hungry but no longer even go to school: it is an inhuman situation”, “it is something that we religious people cry out to God”.
