Pier Silvio Berlusconi Considers Political Future, Praises Italian Premier

Rome: Pier Silvio Berlusconi, the eldest son of the late ex-premier and media tycoon Silvio Berlusconi, has, for the first time, not dismissed the possibility of entering politics. During a presentation of Mediaset’s programming schedules, he emphasized that while a political career could be in his future, it is not an immediate pursuit.

According to Ansa News Agency, Pier Silvio Berlusconi clarified his current intentions, stating he does not plan to follow in his father’s political footsteps “for now.” As the CEO of MediaForEurope, which Mediaset is a part of, Berlusconi used the event to commend Premier Giorgia Meloni for her leadership.

Berlusconi expressed admiration for Meloni, noting her achievements and describing her governance as unparalleled. “She is doing a unique job,” he remarked, highlighting her journey from humble beginnings to leading what he considers the best government in Europe. He praised her approach as serious and committed, and used the term “patriotism” to describe her style, differentiating it from nationalism.

Additionally, Pier Silvio Berlusconi voiced criticism over a Forza Italia proposal regarding the citizenship of children born to migrants in Italy. The party, founded by his late father and now led by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, suggested allowing these children to apply for Italian citizenship before turning 18, provided they have been educated in Italy for 10 years.

In response to Berlusconi’s comments, Tajani expressed support for a potential political future for him, stating it would be “excellent” if Pier Silvio Berlusconi decided to enter the political arena.
