Partner Charged with Murder of Woman in Ischia in 2024

Ischia: The partner of a 32-year-old Ukrainian woman who was found dead at the bottom of a cliff on the Gulf of Naples island of Ischia last year has been charged with her murder.

According to Ansa News Agency, Ilia Batrakov, 41, is suspected of killing Marta Maria Ohryzko at Vatoliere di Ischia by suffocating her, covering her nose and mouth with his hand after she fell from the cliff and broke her ankle.

Italy has been hit by an alarming spate of femicides, many involving the murder of women by their current or former partners.
