No Simple Solution for Ukraine Says Crosetto

Rome: Defence Minister Guido Crosetto on Tuesday told the Senate there is no simple or immediate solution to the conflict in Ukraine, discussing the extension until December 31, 2025, of military aid for the country. He emphasized the necessity of continuing support to Ukraine to create conditions for a ceasefire.

According to Ansa News Agency, Crosetto highlighted a significant increase in Russian attacks targeting both military and civilian areas in Ukraine. “No simple or immediate solution has emerged,” he stated, underscoring the complexity of the situation.

Crosetto reiterated the consistent position of the government, saying, “So far, the position has always been clear, we think about continuing to provide support to Ukraine in order to finally create the conditions for a ceasefire and to open a necessary diplomatic discussion to reach a long-lasting peace.” The defence minister stressed the importance of diplomatic efforts alongside military aid to achieve enduring peace.
