No Italian Migrant Will Go To Guantanamo Says Tajani
Rome: No Italian illegal migrant will go to Guantanamo, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated on Wednesday. This announcement came after reports surfaced that an unspecified number of Italians were among the 9,000 illegal migrants that President Donald Trump’s administration planned to send to the US naval base in Cuba.
According to Ansa News Agency, Tajani, who also serves as deputy premier, expressed confidence in the effectiveness of Italian diplomacy. He emphasized, “Italian diplomacy is always working successfully,” in a post on X, a social media platform. Tajani reassured that none of the Italian migrants detained in the USA would be transferred to Guantanamo.
Tajani further mentioned that ongoing diplomatic efforts with the American government continue to be positive. He highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the Italian and American administrations, reinforcing the commitment to resolve the situation amicably.
