NHS Waiting Lists ‘Disgraceful’ Says Audit Court

Rome: The length of the waiting lists in the National Health Service (NHS) is disgraceful, the Audit Court said Thursday. “We must bank on human capital to try and get these shameful lists shorter,” said Prosecutor General Pio Silvestri.

According to Ansa News Agency, Silvestri also mentioned that the court broadly agreed with the government’s growth forecasts but might have to trim them since they are “probably optimistic”. He highlighted concerns about some aspects of the government’s tax arrears scrapping scheme, describing them as problematic.

Additionally, Silvestri pointed out that the recent renewal of beach club licenses must be the last, due to the risk of mafia infiltration.
