Napoli Fans Expelled After Eindhoven Arrests

Eindhoven: Around 180 Napoli fans were arrested in Eindhoven overnight and were subsequently expelled from the Dutch city, supporters said on Tuesday. The Italian fans were in Eindhoven for Tuesday’s Champions League clash between Napoli and PSV.

According to Ansa News Agency, the tickets for the match of the fans who were detained have been cancelled, the supporters said. The fans were reportedly arrested after breaching a security zone set up by the city’s mayor, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, in view of the match. Dutch news agency ANP reported that the Napoli fans were arrested after entering the security zone and refusing to leave despite being told to by police. It was said they were arrested to prevent trouble from breaking out.
