Brindisi: An 18-year-old Ukrainian woman student who was doing an exchange internship in a tourist village in Puglia was found hanged about a kilometre from it Tuesday after going missing on Friday.
According to Ansa News Agency, Mariia Buhaiova was in Puglia as part of a European project with the University of Bratislava to do an internship in a tourist village, Meditur, which is located along the Carovigno coast near Brindisi.
Mariia’s disappearance had raised concerns among the local community and those involved in the exchange program. The internship was part of a larger initiative aimed at providing students with practical experience in the tourism industry. The tragic discovery has left many in shock, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
