Milan Declares Day of Mourning for Armani’s Funeral

Milan: Milan has declared a day of mourning for Giorgio Armani’s funeral on Monday in the city where he founded his high-end fashion maison in 1975, Mayor Giuseppe Sala announced following Armani’s death at 91 on Thursday. Sala noted that the designer “was and will always be one of the greatest representatives of Italian and Milanese fashion in the world.”

According to Ansa News Agency, Sala remembered Armani as a man full of talent and interests, who adeptly conveyed the sober and elegant style of his personality into his creations. He emphasized that Armani’s work was always measured and never excessive.

The mayor expressed that Milan will greatly miss Armani’s creative vision, his active participation, and his support for the life of the city.
