Washington: European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and Vice President Pina Picierno visited life Senator and Holocaust survivor Liliana Segre at her home in Milan to reiterate the EU’s commitment against antisemitism, sources said in Brussels.

According to Ansa News Agency, Metsola expressed her admiration for the 95-year-old Segre, describing her as an extraordinary and vibrant woman. Following their meeting, Metsola shared her reflections on X, stating, “Today I met Holocaust survivor and Italian Senator Liliana Segre, an extraordinary and vibrant woman. Her voice carries the weight of history and the hope that we can still build a world free of hatred. I am honored to be welcomed into her home in Milan. Hearing her story is a lesson in dignity and resilience.”
