Mercedes-Benz Celebrates Milestone with 2 Millionth Car at Kecskemét Base


KecskemÉt: Mercedes-Benz has achieved a significant milestone with the production of its 2 millionth vehicle at its Kecskemét plant in central Hungary. This landmark was reached with the rollout of a fully-electric EQB model, underscoring the company’s ongoing commitment to electric mobility.

According to About Hungary, the Kecskemét facility also produces several other models, including the A-Class, CLA Coupe, and Shooting Brake. In the previous year alone, the plant manufactured over 174,000 vehicles. Jorg Burzer, a board member for production at Mercedes-Benz Group, commended the workers at the plant for their contributions to achieving what he described as “2 million satisfied customers.”

Jens Buhler, the managing director of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary, stated that the plant’s expansion would help ensure it remains a “reliable partner” for car buyers in the future. The production of compact models at the Kecskemét facility commenced in 2021, marking a new chapter in the plant’s operations.
