Verona: Premier Giorgia Meloni on Tuesday paid tribute to the three Carabinieri police officers who were killed in an explosion during an eviction of a farmhouse near Verona and to the public officials who were injured in the blast.
According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni expressed her deep sorrow over the tragic deaths and acknowledged the injuries sustained by 13 others, including members of the Carabinieri, firefighters, and state police, during the eviction operation in the Verona area. She conveyed her profound condolences and those of the government to the victims’ families and expressed emotional closeness to the Carabinieri, as shared in her phone call to the commanding general, General Salvatore Luongo.
Meloni extended her sincere wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured members of the police forces and the fire brigade. She also thanked the medical personnel and others who responded swiftly and professionally to the incident.
