According to Ansa News Agency, Premier Meloni emphasized her commitment to supporting President Mattarella, particularly when he faces attacks for highlighting the roles of aggressor and victim. Meloni’s remarks were part of her communications to the Senate ahead of this week’s European Council meeting, where she reiterated that Italy’s support for Ukraine remains unchanged.

The tension with Moscow escalated after President Mattarella drew a comparison between Russia and the Third Reich, prompting a sharp response from Moscow.
