Meloni Engages in Peace Dialogue with Pope Leo XIV

Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni has engaged in a telephone conversation with Pope Leo XIV, as confirmed by her office in a statement issued on Thursday. Italy has expressed its appreciation and support for the Holy See’s efforts to promote peace and resolve conflicts in regions where weapons have replaced dialogue and discussion.

According to Ansa News Agency, during the conversation, Meloni reiterated Italy’s commitment to collaborating with the Holy See on the ethical and human-centered development of artificial intelligence. She emphasized that this initiative was a significant focus during the Italian G7 Presidency. Meloni also highlighted the importance of this issue in defending human dignity, justice, and work, echoing Pope Leo XIV’s sentiments from his meeting with the Cardinals on May 10.
