Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni has expressed condemnation following a deadly attack involving a bus carrying supporters of the Pistoia basketball team. The incident occurred after a second-tier clash with followers of the Rieti Sebastiani Basket club, resulting in the death of the bus driver.

According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni took to social media to voice her dismay, stating, “This terrible news leaves you speechless.” She described the attack, which involved the driver being fatally struck by a brick, as an unacceptable act of violence. Meloni extended her condolences to the victim’s family and expressed solidarity with those who witnessed the tragic event.

Meloni further indicated her confidence that the perpetrators of what she termed a cowardly and criminal act would be swiftly identified and brought to justice.
