Meloni Celebrates Italy’s Volleyball Champions for Their Recent Victories
Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday received Italy’s male and female volleyball world champions, expressing gratitude for the emotions they had stirred with their recent victories. After meeting with President Sergio Mattarella, the world-champion Italian national teams visited Palazzo Chigi to be greeted by Meloni.
According to Ansa News Agency, during the ceremony, team captains Anna Danesi and Simone Anzani presented Meloni with jerseys and a ball signed by all the athletes. In return, the premier presented each national team with two Italian flags.
“You were guests of the Head of State, and for you, this is certainly an important and memorable day,” Meloni remarked, thanking the teams for the emotions they provided. She emphasized the significance of the gifts, stating, “These gifts mean so much: they are the colors you have defended and represented to the best of your ability, and which you have proudly brought to the top of the world.”
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti and the Minister of Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi.
