Mattarella Marks National Unity Day with Ceremony in Rome
Rome: President Sergio Mattarella on Monday laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Rome’s Vittorio Emanuele Monument, also known as the Altar of the Homeland, to mark Italy’s Day of national unity, the Constitution, the anthem, and the flag.
According to Ansa News Agency, Mattarella was welcomed in Piazza Venezia by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto. The ceremony was attended by several high-profile figures, including Premier Giorgia Meloni, the Speakers of the Senate and Lower House, Ignazio La Russa and Lorenzo Fontana, respectively, and the President of the Constitutional Court Giovanni Amoroso, among others.
