Master of Japanese Robotics Hiroshi Ishiguro Visits Italy Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka


Osaka: The master of robotics Hiroshi Ishiguro, who is the director of the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory at Osaka University, recently visited the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. During his visit, he expressed his affection for Italy, stating, “I have a strong relationship with Italy, I am in love with your country.” He was accompanied by Mario Vattani, the Commissioner General for Italy at the Expo.



According to Ansa News Agency, Ishiguro is renowned for his creation of a humanoid version of himself, known as Geminoid. This robotic alter ego has been used to attend academic conferences and perform in theater productions. His work and contributions to the field of robotics are celebrated in the ‘Future of Life’ pavilion, one of the Signature pavilions of Expo 2025 Osaka, which is dedicated to him.



During his tour of the Italy Pavilion, Ishiguro was notably impressed by the display of original works, including the Farnese Atlas and Caravaggio’s “The Deposition.” The professor also admired the work DieXe by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, which was crafted with Murano glass.
