Man Receives Life Sentence for Femicide in Sardinia
Cagliari: A self-confessed femicide was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife near Cagliari in Sardinia last year. The Cagliari Court of Assizes delivered the sentence, which includes one year of daytime isolation, to Igor Sollai. Sollai, aged 43, was found guilty of aggravated voluntary homicide and concealment of a corpse.
According to Ansa News Agency, the case involved the disappearance of Sollai’s 42-year-old wife, Francesca Deidda. She went missing from San Sperate, a town located about twenty kilometers from Cagliari, on May 10 of the previous year. Her remains were discovered on July 18 in a duffel bag in the countryside between Sinnai and San Vito.
