Man Kept Mum’s Body in Garage to Get Pension

Rome: A 54-year-old man kept his 90-year-old mother’s body in his garage since January in order to keep pocketing her pension, police said Tuesday. The man and his partner have been charged with hiding a body and illegally obtaining public money after they wrapped Lidi Ardizzoni in cellophane and stored her away after her death, estimated at January 4.

According to Ansa News Agency, the authorities became suspicious when no one reported the elderly woman’s death or saw her for several months. The investigation led them to the man’s residence, where they discovered Ardizzoni’s body wrapped and concealed in the garage.

The police reported that the man continued to collect his mother’s pension payments, which was his primary motive for concealing her death. Both the man and his partner now face serious charges as the investigation continues to unfold.
