Italy’s Rail Services Hit by Eight-Hour Strike
Naples: Rail services across Italy were hit by an eight-hour strike called by the Filt Cgil, Fit-Cisl, and Uiltrasporti trade unions to protest against the failure to find an agreement to renew the sector’s collective contract. Services were impacted by both delays and cancellations.
According to Ansa News Agency, at Naples’s main train station, several Frecciarossa high-speed services to Milan were scrubbed along with some regional services. The disruption affected commuters and travelers, highlighting ongoing tensions between trade unions and employers in the rail sector.
