Gela: A 40-something Romanian man was arrested Monday for murdering a 64-year-old woman of Romanian origin at Gela in Sicily last month, marking the latest in a string of femicides in Italy. The man, identified as a farm labourer residing in Gela, lived with the victim, Veronica Abaza, police reported.
According to Ansa News Agency, the alleged murder occurred in the town near Caltanissetta on September 17. Authorities have promised to provide further details at a press conference scheduled for Tuesday.
