Legless Gaza Boy Realizes Dream of Seeing Sea at Cervia Resort

Cervia: A five-year-old Palestinian boy who lost his legs in Israel’s bombing of Gaza has realized his dream of seeing the sea at the Romagna Riviera resort of Cervia. Ahmed, the young boy, is currently learning to walk on prosthetic legs in Bologna.

According to Ansa News Agency, Ahmed’s dream came true through the efforts of a Domani and Vanity Fair reporter, Alessia Arcolaci, who is from Cervia, and the peace councillor, Michela Brunelli. The child and his family, accompanied by the journalist and several volunteers, were hosted by the Al Faro Hotel in Borgomarina, as explained by the Municipality of Cervia in a statement. During their stay, they enjoyed their days on the Bagno Sorriso beach and Ahmed had the opportunity to meet with the mayor, Mattia Missiroli, and the city councilor for Peace.

Councillor Brunelli expressed the community’s eagerness to fulfill Ahmed’s dream, stating, “When they told us about Ahmed’s dream, we immediately took action to welcome this child and his family and try to give them a few moments of peace.” She emphasized that Ahmed’s story highlights the suffering endured by the people of Gaza and has strengthened the community’s solidarity with the Palestinian tragedy.

Brunelli further stated, “It is truly unacceptable that a people, and especially children, must experience this tragedy.” She extended gratitude to everyone who contributed to making Ahmed’s dream a reality, particularly acknowledging the entrepreneurs Paola Pirini and Roberto Viroli for their generous support.
