Lecce-Genoa Relegation Battle Ends Goalless

Lecce: Lecce were held to a goalless draw at home by relegation-battle rivals Genoa on Sunday, while Cagliari came from behind to beat bottom side Monza 2-1 away and boost their survival hopes thanks to goals by Nadir Zortea and Roberto Piccoli.

According to Ansa News Agency, Genoa are 13th with 20 points from 19 games, while Cagliari and Lecce are fourth-bottom and third-bottom respectively with 17 points each.

Monza, who are struggling at the bottom, have accumulated only 10 points so far. The draw has left Lecce and Genoa in precarious positions as they strive to avoid relegation in a tightly contested league battle. Cagliari’s victory against Monza has provided them a much-needed lift in their fight for survival.

Despite the lack of goals, the match between Lecce and Genoa was critical for both teams as they look to secure their positions in the league. The competition remains fierce as teams continue to battle it out in the second half of the season.
