League Files Bill for Italy to Leave WHO

Rome: Lawmakers for Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini’s right-wing League party said Thursday that they have presented a bill in the Senate for Italy to leave the World Health Organization after United States President Donald Trump announced the US was pulling out.

According to Ansa News Agency, the lawmakers, Senator Claudio Borghi and Lower House MP Alberto Bagnai, expressed hope that the League’s government allies would support the bill. They also indicated a desire to see a “domino effect” following Trump’s announcement.
