Kyiv Secures Unwavering Support from EU as Reconstruction Efforts Gain Momentum

Rome: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced at the Ukraine Recovery Conference that Kyiv can count on the EU now more than ever, unveiling a new EU equity fund dedicated to Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts. “Today we gather in this Eternal City to demonstrate our unconditional commitment to Ukraine,” she stated, emphasizing the EU’s steadfast determination and unwavering support.

According to Ansa News Agency, von der Leyen highlighted the multifaceted nature of the EU’s solidarity with Ukraine, which spans military, financial, and political domains. She revealed that the guarantees and grants signed at the conference would unlock over 10 billion euros in investments aimed at Ukraine’s reconstruction. Furthermore, she assured continued support for Ukraine until 2028 and beyond, aligning with the new European budget’s implementation.

Von der Leyen expressed particular satisfaction in announcing the establishment of the European Reconstruction Fund for Ukraine, deemed the world’s largest equity fund for reconstruction purposes. This initiative underscores the EU’s long-term commitment to assisting Ukraine in its recovery and development endeavors.
