Kyiv Advocates Peace, Holds Moscow Accountable for Ukraine Conflict: Meloni

Kyiv: Ukraine is advocating for peace while Russia bears responsibility for the ongoing conflict, Premier Giorgia Meloni stated on Monday. “Ukraine immediately agreed to meet Putin in Istanbul on Thursday, clarifying in a few minutes, compared to a certain propaganda, which of the parties involved in the conflict is certainly in favor of peace and which instead is once again responsible for the war,” Meloni said during a press conference with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis following the Italy-Greece intergovernmental summit.

According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni emphasized Ukraine’s willingness to engage in peace talks and highlighted the need to observe Russia’s response to the request for a ceasefire. Both leaders discussed the implications of the ongoing conflict and underscored the importance of diplomatic efforts to resolve the situation.
