King Charles Expresses Prayers for Pope Francis During Italy Visit

Rome: King Charles III mentioned during his visit to Italy that he is praying for Pope Francis as the 88-year-old pontiff continues to recover from pneumonia. The King made this statement while engaging with representatives from various faiths at a garden party organized for the British community at Villa Wolkonsky, the British ambassador’s residence in Rome. The event was part of the state visit to Italy by the King and Queen Camilla.

According to Ansa News Agency, the original itinerary for the visit included a scheduled stop at the Vatican and an audience with Pope Francis. However, this meeting was postponed due to the Pope’s current health condition. Pope Francis, who spent 38 days in a hospital in Rome, is now in the midst of a two-month convalescence period.
