Italy’s Plan to Build University in Gaza Unveiled at Rome Summit

Rome: Italy plans to build a university in the Gaza Strip as part of post-war reconstruction efforts, the universities ministry announced at a Gaza reconstruction government summit held in Rome.

According to Ansa News Agency, the education and universities ministry revealed its intention to establish a university in Gaza following the summit. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance educational infrastructure and provide new learning opportunities in the region.

The Ministry of Universities also detailed plans to introduce distance learning courses through both traditional and online universities. Additionally, the creation of common areas equipped with internet access and digital tools was proposed during the Italy for Gaza meeting at Palazzo Chigi.

The proposed university will include appropriate spaces for study and research, aiming to foster academic growth in the Gaza Strip. Furthermore, the ministry emphasized the importance of developing telemedicine projects and establishing local facilities for producing and customizing prosthetics. These efforts will benefit from the expertise of Italian institutions specializing in orthopedics and prosthetics.
