Italy’s Men’s Volleyball Team Retains World Title in Manila
Manila: Italy’s men’s volleyball team triumphed over Bulgaria with a 3-1 victory in Manila, successfully defending the world title they secured in Poland in 2022. This victory mirrors the accomplishment of Italy’s women’s national team, who claimed their world championship just a month prior.
According to Ansa News Agency, Premier Giorgia Meloni expressed her pride on social media, highlighting the exceptional achievement of the men’s team following the women’s national team’s success. “After the extraordinary success of the women’s national team, the men’s volleyball national team have won gold at the world championships for the second consecutive time,” Meloni stated, emphasizing the national pride these victories have brought to Italy.
President Sergio Mattarella promptly extended an invitation to the men’s team for a reception at the Quirinal Palace in Rome. The head of state is already scheduled to welcome the women’s national team on October 8, underscoring the nation’s celebration of their volleyball teams’ achievements.
