Italy’s GDP Growth Projections Remain Stable Amidst European Economic Shifts
Rome: The International Monetary Fund on Tuesday confirmed its growth estimates for Italy in 2025 and 2026. Italy’s GDP is expected to grow by 0.5% in 2025 and by 0.8% in 2026, maintaining the Fund’s July forecast, following a 0.7% increase in 2024.
According to Ansa News Agency, Germany and France are anticipated to experience slight reductions in their economic growth. Germany, a significant economic force in Europe, is projected to grow at a slower pace than Italy this year, with a GDP increase of 0.2%, which is 0.1 percentage points higher than the July forecast. In 2026, Germany’s growth is expected to be 0.9%.
For France, the IMF has adjusted its GDP forecast for 2025 upwards by 0.1 points to 0.7%, while the forecast for 2026 has been revised downwards by 0.1 points to 0.9%. Meanwhile, the IMF indicated that global growth would be 3.2% this year, although the overall outlook remains uncertain. Additionally, the IMF warned that the ongoing boom in artificial intelligence could potentially lead to a market correction similar to the dot-com bubble.
