Italy’s Extra-EU Exports Experience Significant Decline in April

Rome: Italy’s exports to countries outside the European Union saw a significant 7% decrease in April, as reported by Istat on Friday. This decline highlights a challenging period for the country’s trade with non-EU nations.

According to Ansa News Agency, April 2025 witnessed a cyclical decline in overall exports by 2.8%. In contrast, imports showed a modest increase of 0.3%. The primary factor contributing to the reduction in exports was the significant drop in sales to the extra-EU area, which fell by 7%. However, exports to EU member states experienced a growth of 1.5%, indicating a divergence in trade dynamics between EU and non-EU markets.
