Italy to Initiate Aid Airdrops Into Gaza on August 9

Rome: Italy will commence airdrops of aid into Gaza starting August 9, as announced by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto on Friday. The mission, which involves both the Army and Air Force, aims to deliver essential goods to civilians in Gaza who have been severely affected by the ongoing conflict.

According to Ansa News Agency, Crosetto outlined that the operation is set to begin imminently, with an ‘advance party’ being deployed to handle preparatory tasks and to coordinate with local authorities. This initiative marks a significant effort by Italy to provide humanitarian assistance amidst the escalating crisis.

The Defence Minister also mentioned that the initial airdrops are planned to occur as early as August 9. This timeline allows the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to finalize the procurement and transportation of food supplies to Jordan, ensuring that the aid reaches those in need in a timely manner.
