Italy Takes Center Stage at 26th Mostar International Economic Fair

Mostar: The 26th edition of the Mostar International Economic Fair has been officially presented, with Italy announced as the partner country for the event. The fair, scheduled from April 8 to 12, is recognized as one of the premier trade events in Bosnia Herzegovina and the broader Balkan region, boasting significant exhibition space and attracting numerous exhibitors and visitors.

According to Ansa News Agency, the Italian Pavilion, set up by the ICE Agency and the Italian Embassy in Sarajevo, will cover an area of 150 square meters. It will showcase Italy’s offerings, focusing on tourism and the agri-food sector. Italian companies specializing in food and supply chain products, such as packaging machinery and agricultural mechanization, will highlight quality, tradition, innovation, and sustainability to enhance business relations in the region.

Italy holds a prominent place in trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina, consistently ranking as a top supplier for four consecutive years. This strong business presence will be complemented by a program of cultural events, including a performance by the Tuscan band “Musica da Ripostiglio” and an exhibition titled “Italian Avant-Garde,” featuring works by renowned Italian artists like Amedeo Modigliani.

Visitors to the Italian Pavilion can admire iconic “Made in Italy” products, including a Ferrari and motorbikes from Guzzi, Aprilia, and Piaggio. A digital exhibition, “Benfatto,” will also be showcased, celebrating Italian craftsmanship in various sectors. A dedicated “Made in Abruzzo” corner and a wine tasting event are also planned.

On April 9, a workshop titled ‘Connected Region,’ organized by the ICE Agency and the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH, will explore opportunities for bilateral economic cooperation. Business-to-business meetings will follow, along with presentations by the ‘Association of Italian Businesses in Bosnia and Herzegovina’ (AIIBH).

Sarah Castellani, the Ambassador of Italy to Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasized Italy’s role as a leading exporter to Bosnia and the significance of the fair as a platform for showcasing Italian excellence across multiple sectors. She highlighted the importance of supporting Bosnia Herzegovina’s stability and its path to EU accession, reaffirming Italy’s strategic interest in the Western Balkans.
