Italy Suffers 10% of Global Cyber Attacks Annually, Reports CLUSIT


Rome: Italy suffers 10% of global cyber attacks annually, the Italian ICT security association CLUSIT said Tuesday.



According to Ansa News Agency, in 2024, 3,541 cyber incidents were detected worldwide, marking a growth of 27.4% compared to the previous year. Italy remains a significant target, enduring 10% of these global attacks. The news and multimedia sector is the most affected category, accounting for 18% of the total attacks.



Furthermore, a quarter of cyber incidents in the global manufacturing sector were targeted at Italian companies. Similarly, a quarter of the attacks in the global transport and logistics sector also focused on Italy. Over a third of the incidents in Italy were attributed to malware, highlighting the persistent threat posed by malicious software.
