Italy Not Complicit in Netanyahu Actions Says Crosetto

Rome: Italy cannot be held responsible for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said Thursday. “I ask for a collective commitment from Parliament. Saying that we are jointly responsible for the genocide does not help the Italian government,” he told the Senate in a briefing on the Global Sumud Flotilla, for which Italy has sent a frigate after an Israeli drone attack and is organising the delivery of its aid to Gaza.

According to Ansa News Agency, Crosetto emphasized that Italy feels no shared responsibility for Netanyahu’s actions against the Palestinian population. Highlighting Italy’s humanitarian efforts, he mentioned that the first Western aid to arrive in the Gaza Strip was the Vulcano ship.
